Downingtown Diner has opened in none other then, DOWNINGTOWN, PA!

I've had the pleasure of driving out there to dive into the delicious menu items they offer, and each time I walk out with a smile and sense of complete satisfaction, ranging from friendly, happy employees, to down home cooking that feels like it's from farm to table!  

The best part is that it's open 24/7! OPEN ALL HOLIDAYS!

I had tried many items on the menu before going gluten free and was very pleased. I am saddened that I now have to keep gluten either very, very low, or completely out of my diet.  :(  SAD FACE!

I have now completely come to terms with the fact that I can't eat gluten, but I didn't let that stop me from eating at my favorite diner!!!!

I checked out the menu, and while I didn't see anything that was it's own gluten free menu (LIKE MANY PLACES), I made up my own eats!

I went with the cheesesteak but SANS the roll, leaving me with the yummy meat and cheese on my hot plate. Next I asked for the HOMEMADE home fries and had them sauteed in green peppers and onions. CAN WE SAY YUM!

I topped it off with a little side dish of fresh, crunchy pickles for a kick.

(Eating pickles or drinking pickle juice is now said to be beneficial for helping rid your body of the lactic acid it makes after a work out).... I rid myself of the lactic acid by eating this bowl of pickles as well as rewarding myself for my work out with the cheesesteak! YES!!

     I am a big fan of inspirational quotes. I believe in finding the strength and power within to boost yourself forward to making all of your dreams come true.  As much fun as it would be if it just came naturally to me, where as I could make up my own wondrous and famous quotes to inspire thousands of women, in truth, it is not the case.  With that being said, I search for these amazing quotes and bring them into my every day life.

      My mom is also a big believer in positive thinking and sending good out into the world; she is also my #1 fan and personal cheerleader!  We started this early morning routine where we would surprise each other with a thought or quote for the day.  These notes could be something as simple as "Somebody loves you and believes in you, so make it a great day!" Other times it would be a more thoughtful quote that made me really think and believe in what I wanted to do next like, "Writers write, so if you love writing, and want to write, then write."  I remember writing my head off that day.  All I needed for inspiration was reading that quote time after time to remind me that I don't have to have written movies or screenplays, or have published my own book.  But if I wanted to write, and writing made me happy, then what excuse do I have but to write? So that's exactly what I did.  Find people to be your cheerleaders, and still, be your best cheerleader and believe in yourself! No matter what you do, don't stop trying and "keep on keepin' on."

     I also believe that finding your own happiness comes from within, and no one else can find it for you.  If you're not happy, then you won't find your happiness by someone else giving it to you.  This must come from within.  Having quotes around the house that inspire and make one believe in themselves is a MUST!  Find your favorite quotes and leave them around places in your house that you read all of the time.  I like to frame some of my quotes and leave them in the hallway, so as I pass by I read them and don't even notice how many times a day it has been read! I just start to believe it because I have it so engrained in my subconscious mind!

Some other places to put these quotes are on your bulletin boards, chalkboards, post it notes, frames, lipstick on mirror, as well as little notes that you leave leaning up against items in your house that you randomly walk by.  My favorite it putting my recent quote on my bathroom mirror so I read it each morning as I get ready for my day.  What are you waiting for? Grab a piece of paper, write your favorite quotes, and get up and get posting around your house! BE YOUR OWN INSPIRATION and go-getter.  Stop waiting for the world to do it for you.  GO YOU!

Longwood Gardens visit in Kennett Square,PA

We took a lovely visit to Longwood Gardens the other day. Beautiful! The flowers are amazing and every turn brings something new to admire! Not only did we enjoy the sights but a nice long walk to get the blood flowing and endorphins up !!
